We spent a wonderful Saturday with a group of terrific artists. We explored the basic of altering books. This was the first in a series of three workshops focused on Altered Books. It was so much fun and very inspiring!
Sheila Carpenter and Karen Dominguez-Brann were floating around in the pool one day and had a sisterly Ah-Ha moment. They were talking about how to share their passion for Art and meet other creative and like minded folks. They decided the perfect solution would be to create a series of workshops on the second Saturday of each month. Sheila and Karen were raised on Art. Growing up on the West Coast their Mom was always taking them to art museums where they learned about the major artists and their various applications and techniques. They regularly visited exhibits as far ranging as Andy Warhol, Monet and the classic Masters. These wonderfully rich experiences became the foundation for being able to understand not only Art History and Techniques but also exposed them from a young age to the magic of true creative drive. As girls and young women they were always doing some kind of Art or Craft project. Sheila is a talented Assemblage Artist and Karenworks in mixed media including Painting, Photography and large canvases featuring Nature. These Saturday Sisters invite you to be a part of their Art Tribe. Give us a call 207 653 9334 or drop us an Email to learn more or to sign up. .
